Sensory Kids is a private clinic and we do not participate in any insurance plans. Many of our families have had success with getting coverage, but each individuals insurance company and insurance plan is different. Some providers will consider us an out of network exception. Sensory Kids does help by creating invoices that are called “super bills”. Each invoice contains the diagnostic and procedural codes, therapist licence, NPI number and tax ID number. This allow the invoices to be submitted directly to your insurance company as is.
Sensory Kids will provide assistance with claims to insurance companies; therapists can assist by writing insurance letters to help with coverage. However, it will be your responsibility to find out what your plan requires.
Some important questions you can ask are:
What out-of-network coverage do I have if I use a provider that does not accept my insurance?
Do I need to obtain prior authorization or a referral for therapy services?
Can I apply Occupational Therapy sessions toward my deductible?
Once my deductible is met, will my Occupational Therapy sessions be fully covered?
- What type of notes will need to be provided (this allow the therapist to make these appropriate as your child is seen)?
